Where to Find the Best Pizza in Phuket

Pizza is such a topical subject as some people like the American style thick based pizzas and some prefer the thin, authentic style. Whatever your taste, we have been on a quest to find where to get the best pizzas in Phuket. Here are our Top 6!
Catch Beach Club
We really must include somewhere that is located by the beach, right? Catch Beach Club also has a wood-fired oven and serves fabulous pizzas. Their menu is not solely pizza, but they do a really great vegan ‘Truffle Pizza’ pizza using dairy-free mozzarella and their ‘Veggie Pizza’ is also great for vegans too, topped with artichoke, roasted capsicum, tomato, basil, this can also be made with vegan mozzarella. Our favourite pizza is the ‘Burrata’, and the ‘Fig & Prosciutto’ is absolutely delicious!
Little Roma Phuket
For those who prefer a tad more dough to their pizza base, then Little Roma may be perfect for you! A little more on the pricey side if you want toppings but watch their website as they are really proactive about promotions and specials on certain days of the week. Located in Porto de Phuket, a nicely laid out shopping and dining destination in Cherngtalay (next to Boat Avenue, Little Roma is a very convivial restaurant and offers a full Italian menu. The pizzas we love are the ‘Pad Ka Pao Gai Pizza’, it’s a white pizza but offers a Thai flavour and the ‘Diavola’ is really good with spicy salami.
BOCCOCINO
Beware, the menu is a tad on the large size so get yourself an aperitif and have a good read! Or just tell Chef Massimo what it is you like, you don’t like, and he will recommend something for you. This restaurant is found in Boat Avenue opposite Drinks & Co and offers a nice outdoor area with a view of one of the old tin mining lagoons. This is a special place and can be as relaxed or as formal as you want to make it. Massimo has a wood-fired oven, and his pizzas are, in our opinion, some of the best. He also can do a gluten-free base, which is hard to find in Phuket for any less than 500 baht! The pizza highlights we believe are the ‘Porcini Taleggio e Tartufo’ and the ‘Lombarda’, topped with mozzarella, beef bresaola, wild rocket and Taleggio cheese. The wine cellar is very good here too, so make sure after your Aperol Spritz you try one of the great Italian wines on offer.
Crust

Located very near to Central Festival and opposite Index living Mall, is a cute row of shophouses all modern, but styled in old Peranakan décor. Crust has been located here for a few years now and their food is super yum! All around the 300-baht mark, you can opt for white pizzas, their smoked salmon and brie is delicious, and their standard pizzas include all the favourites you would expect, the ‘Saporita’ is nice, with sundried tomatoes and capers, and the ‘Hawaiian’ is perfect for those who believe pineapple certainly has a rightful place on a pizza. Their pasta menu is equally as good, and the ‘Vongole’ is perfect, and the ‘Lamb Cannelloni’ is a must-try! They also offer gluten-free pasta here.

MM Pizzaria
Unarguably the best place for your pizza fix in the southern area of Phuket. Located in Rawai, MM’s has been serving up the tastiest pizzas at a really competitive price to locals and holidaymakers. The restaurant is open and airy and the staff very pleasant. The menu also includes Italian dishes such as lasagna, pasta and gnocchi. We highly recommend going for a half-half pizza so you can get the best of both tastes and the seafood spaghetti is really good – ask for it Thai style and enjoy the heat!
BASIL
So, don’t expect linen tablecloths but do expect the best pizza for the lowest price! Five Star hotel Executive Chefs from Italy have all said that Basil is the closest authentic tasting pizza they have had in Phuket, so that is a pretty good validation. All pizzas are thin crust and baked to perfection in the wood-fired oven. Their ‘Calzone’, ‘Capriciosa’ and ‘Pizza Salmon’ is really good. They also offer salads, pasta and a really cheesy baked spinach. Basil is found directly opposite the entrance to Boat Avenue in Cherngtalay.
Remember to always take water, sun cream, hat, insect repellant and a t-shirt or a sarong to cover up from the sun! Enjoy discovering the natural beauty of Phuket.
