Where to Find the Best Steak in Phuket

Sometimes all we want is some good company and a perfectly cooked juicy steak, with a nice glass of red wine of course! However, for some of us choosing a steak can be like choosing a fine wine, you’re familiar with the names but don’t know what to order, so you either randomly pick one or ask the waiter to make a recommendation.

Choosing the right steak for you is quite simple really, all you need to know when ordering is the difference between the cuts, and how you prefer it cooked.

Filet mignon steak is very lean and tender with a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture, and a mild taste. Sirloin is rich in flavour and extremely juicy. Rib-eye has a rich meaty flavour, and T-bone packs two different textures and flavour experiences – a tender fillet muscle on the smaller side of the bone and a juicy sirloin on the other. There, was that so difficult?

Once you know the difference between the cuts decide how you prefer it cooked. If you’re a devoted steak lover then ask for rare, the outside cooked and the inside partially raw. When the outside is thoroughly cooked and the inside is cooked but a little red, it’s medium. Cooked all the way through and slightly charred, it’s well done. Or order your steak cooked between the two, medium rare or medium well.

Phuket has a lot of choices when it comes to eating the best steak, whether it’s a cut of prime Wagyu beef from the award-winning Darling Downs in Australia, a tender grilled T-bone grilled to perfection on a Beech grill, or a delicious and decadent grain-fed Australian Black Angus Chateaubriand. They’re all really good!

Plum Prime Steakhouse

The favourites are the Suckling Veal Rack of Ribs imported from New Zealand, Argentinian 100% pasture-fed, Black Angus rib-eye steak, and the Charolais Beef, imported fresh from France and dry-aged for 3 to 4 weeks in their very own cellar.
