CRUISING AROUND PHUKET AND BEYOND

Palm-fringed beaches, five-star resorts, lively beach clubs, great restaurants, excellent diving and picture-perfect sunsets, these are just a taste of the delights Phuket has to offer.

What makes this island exceptional as a holiday destination is an abundance of beautiful islands not too far from its shores, including the magical waters of Phang Nga Bay, one of the most beautiful national marine parks in the Kingdom.

Dozens of boats set sail every day crowded with tourists for a day’s tour around the islands of Phi Phi, Phang Nga Bay, Racha, Krabi and Khai Island. It’s easy enough to book and join one of these group tours, but why spoil the experience by sharing it with others?

By chartering a private yacht with ‘Andaman Cruises’, you can really take advantage of the magnificent seascape. There’s no schedule to stick to, you have the freedom to decide if you want to swim in the ocean, relax on deck and catch some rays, or snorkel to see the colourful underwater world. The choice is yours to make – with some guidance from the captain of course.

A full-day or half-day excursion on a fully-crewed luxury yacht can make your trip that much more special. There’s plenty of space for friends and family to relax, an attentive crew to take care of everything, delicious cuisine, and it’s an exceptional way to explore the vibrant marine playground around Phuket.

Heavenly Phang Nga Bay

Not far from the shores of Phuket is breathtaking Phang Nga Bay, Thailand’s most desirable destination as it’s incredibly picturesque. You can spend the whole day here sailing amidst the jungle-shrouded sea mountains and exploring the lagoons and hidden sea caves whatever the weather decides to do, even on an overcast day, Phang Nga remains magical.

Koh Hong

Koh Hong is part of a group of islands on the Krabi coastline, its beach is picture-postcard perfect with sands of white-gold so soft it feels as if you’re walking on powder. Its beauty is astounding and often free of any other visitors.

High limestone cliffs shelter the spectacular lagoon where the water changes from a deep green to a startling jade. Take time to explore the bay with its exotic birdlife, you can often see giant monitor lizards and white-faced gibbons. The palm trees offer a shady spot to enjoy a delicious lunch of Phuket lobster and fresh seafood.

No cruise is complete without a glimpse of the Phi Phi islands, a unique and a gorgeous cluster of islands nick-named ‘the jewels of the Andaman Sea’. The most famous of the islands, featured on postcards and in a movie, is Maya Bay, closed to the public for some time to help the coral reefs restore.

You can still visit the exterior section and marvel at the ring of steep limestone hills that surround it, their tops lush with vegetation, and the beach dazzles snow-white. All you’ll want to do is dive into that crystal-clear water to see if it feels as good as it looks.

Racha Islands

Your captain will know all the most beautiful and secret spots in the Andaman and Koh Khai is one of them. This enchanting tiny tropical oasis is small enough to walk from one side to the other in a matter of minutes.

Step into the shallow water and the colourful exotic fish are already swarming around your feet. Swimming and snorkelling the spectacular, shallow reef is the order of the day, or with a glass of cold rosé in hand admire the views from the deck. The Racha Islands also boast great snorkelling with colourful displays of parrotfish, butterflyfish, Moorish idols and clownfish. South of Phuket, they tempt you to stop awhile.

You won’t be able to resist jumping from the boat into the still waters for a refreshing swim or get your snorkelling mask on and discover the bounty of rich marine life just under the glittering surface.

A crewed yacht charter is an unforgettable pleasure that should be experienced at least once in your life, and where better to explore than the diversity of the Andaman Sea?
