Bangla Road, it’s Unique
Most of the nightlife centres around the outrageous Bangla Road, so if you’re curious to see why it’s earned its reputation then go and check it out for yourself.
A walking street in the evenings, it’s packed with people taking their chances amongst the noisy bars, trying touts, loud music, bright lights and preening ladyboys.
If it gets too much for you, then just stop at one of the pavement bars and people watch, it really is fascinating. Like a magnet, it draws in the party animals and the curious. The atmosphere is friendly and lively, and you’ll see young couples, groups of friends, families with children, holidaymakers and Thai people all keen to see the notorious street life.
Be entertained by the street artists as they attract a crowd with their repertoire of magic tricks, or style of hip-hop moves. Watch out for the ladyboys, they look fantastic in their finest outfits as they parade up and down the street but catch their eye and they’ll be on you in a flash asking if you’d like a photo together, for a reasonable price of course.
A Rooftop Bar Haven
For a more peaceful setting,
The Kee Sky Lounge is a sophisticated rooftop bar located at the Kee Resort. A quiet, the chilled out atmosphere, you’ll soon forget you’re in the heart of Patong.
This picture-perfect venue is great for a happy hour signature cocktail, created by bartenders out to impress with their juggling skills. With the nautical theme and wooden floors, you can imagine yourself sitting on the deck of a cruise liner as you gaze at the 360-degree views of the sunset over the Andaman Sea.
