Where to Find Best Breakfast in Phuket

It can be a struggle to get going in the mornings, at least until you’ve had your first cup of caffeine, but the thought of a delicious breakfast with freshly roasted coffee is often enough to propel you out of bed. When on holiday you deserve to treat yourself, whether it’s a healthy smoothie bowl, fluffy pancakes, a traditional British fry up, or a simple flaky pastry.

Check out some of Phuket’s scrumptious breakfast spots.

Breakfast at the Seaside with Shimmer

Breakfast at the Seaside with Shimmer

What better way to connect with friends and family than with breakfast overlooking the stunning Andaman Sea? Located at Twinpalms MontAzure on Kamala Beach, Shimmer Beachfront Restaurant offers a chic beach setting for an early morning feast with hues of the ocean and comfortable seating. The food is fresh, vibrant and delicious, the atmosphere relaxed and the scenery sublime.

Keep it simple with a fresh coffee and baked pastries, or try the homemade yoghurt with fresh fruit. Hunger pangs? Then the continental or American breakfast should do the trick, or indulge with something from the a la carte menu, rosemary and potato frittata with sautéed greens and mushrooms perhaps. If you have a sweet tooth, the ‘Wow’ pancake with bananas and maple syrup is delightful, or be adventurous and pick the Thai congee with Andaman Sea prawns.

English Fry ups at Peppers

English Fry ups at Peppers

We all like to eat healthily, but now and then, especially when on holiday, there’s nothing that hits the spot better than a full English fry up, and there’s nowhere else that does comfort food quite as good as Peppers Sports Bar.
Located in Cherngtalay, at the entrance to Laguna, it’s just like being in an English-style pub, except it’s hot! Expect the works here with substantial portions, plates piled high, home-cooked chips and real pork sausages and bacon, not always easy to find in Phuket, finished off with a proper cuppa, you won’t be leaving hungry that’s for sure!
Vegan Table Delights

Vegan Table Delights

Located in Phuket Old Town, The Vegan Table serves up home-cooked vegan food using the freshest vegetables, herbs and spices. Nearly everything is home-made, including the falafels and humous, and they even bake all their bread.

Their alternative to the full English is the vegan English, with homemade vegan sausages, scrambled tofu, avocado toast, mushrooms, baked beans, tomato and pesto sauce, or tickle your taste buds with their secret recipe of scrambled tofu on toasted sourdough bread and fresh avocado.

Looking for something sweet? Tuck into the vegan pancakes with flambé banana, toasted cashew nuts, strawberries and maple syrup, or baked apple and cinnamon crumble served piping hot with delicious vegan cream. Grab a takeaway soy milk latte before leaving, and head into the historic streets of the city to explore.

Gallery Café by Pinky

Run by Pinky, a Bangkok-born patisserie chef, there are a number of Gallery Cafés around the island. The original is located in the historic quarter of Phuket Old Town, an air-conditioned haven to escape the heat and enjoy some flavourful food.
The Cherngtalay branch is a stylish setting with a cool aircon interior of concrete floors and communal tables, whilst the sunny terrace offers a place to hang around all day. Serving up home-style, hearty European and Thai food, there are lots of scrummy brekkie dishes for starving customers, from poached eggs with avocado, traditional English breakfast and a vegetarian version, spinach-stuffed omelettes and fluffy pancakes, rainbow-coloured smoothie bowls and Thai-style breakfast porridge.
French Pastries at BAKE

French Pastries at BAKE

Visit BAKE in Cherngtalay or at Central Patong, where the coffee beans come courtesy of the Mae Suai Mountains of Northern Thailand, the aroma of freshly roasted coffee is irresistible and the shelves are packed with loaves of just-baked bread, including sourdough, multigrain, brioche, and raisin loaves.

If you like your coffee with something sweet in the morning then you’ll be impressed with the selection of flaky French pastries and cakes that taste as good as they look. Go classic with the Continental Breakfast, or tuck into English breakfast waffles with fresh whipped cream and mixed berries.

Indulge in an organic smoothie, packed with indigenous fruits sourced from local farmers, or try the bubble caramel matcha green tea for a unique taste. We love the French macaroons, make sure to pick some up, along with a piping hot cappuccino, on your way out.

Soul Food at Project Artisan

With an air-conditioned café inside and a leafy, cute garden, Project Artisan has created a family and pooch-friendly venue to relax, be inspired, eat simple, wholesome and healthy food, meet up with friends, and chill out.

The menu takes inspiration from Thailand’s street food, with organic eggs from Phang Nga and a large selection of freshly-baked artisan bread, including dark sourdough loaf, mix seed ciabatta, and vegan and gluten-free options.

Grab a seat in the garden with a refreshing mango and passionfruit smoothie bowl, or fill up with an artisan skinny frittata, packed with spring onion, spinach, zucchini, pea and cottage cheese. For something savoury, try the Bali Bowl, a mouth-watering delight of roasted vegetables with cashews and purple potatoes, served on a bed of cauliflower rice with a tahini and lime sauce.
